Budapest’s suburban railway services will be affected by maintenance work on 7 and 8 November, with changes to the H8 Gödöllő and H9 Csömör HÉV lines, the Budapest Transport Centre (BKK) has announced.
Budapest suburban railway undergoes maintenance
According to their statement, the H8 service will operate on a shortened route, running only between Kerepes and Gödöllő. Meanwhile, the H9 line will be suspended entirely on Saturday and Sunday.
Replacement buses will operate to help passengers reach their destinations. Buses marked H8 will run between Örs vezér tere and Kerepes, while H8A services will connect Örs vezér tere with Cinkota. An express replacement bus, designated H8E, will also operate between Örs vezér tere and Kerepes. However, it will not stop at Kistarcsa hospital station.
Passengers travelling on the suspended H9 line will be able to use replacement buses running between Örs vezér tere and Csömör. These services will bypass Cinkota alsó station. The changes are expected to affect weekend journeys for commuters and other passengers using the suburban railway network.
Updated timetables and journey-planning information are available through BudapestGO and the BKK website at bkk.hu/menetrendek.
