Budapest to host next major EBRD conference
Budapest, May 11 (MTI) – Budapest will host the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development’s (EBRD) next major conference in the second half of the year focusing on boosting the growth potentials of the new European Union member states, the economy ministry said on Wednesday.
The conference was announced by EBRD chairman Sir Suma Chakrabarti at the bank’s 2016 Annual Meeting in London, the ministry said in a statement.
Economy Minister Mihaly Varga said: “We consider it an honour to be given the opportunity to host the event and will be happy to share Hungary’s experience in economic development.”
The statement noted that the EBRD Board of Governors on Wednesday re-elected Chakrabarti as the bank’s president with Hungary’s backing.
