Budapest2024: Breath-taking visuals of the locations – Photo gallery
MNO.hu shares the latest visuals showing the designed locations for the project of Budapest2024. Brick Visual created the fantastic designs portraying how the city would look like if the 2024 Olympic Games were hosted here.
RTL Klub was the first medium to share the designs that are still developed; 6 architects have been working on them relentlessly. Attila Mizsér, sports director of the project can now provide some visual material on Budapest 2024 when accepting international sports delegations.
Áron Szilágyi, Hungarian Olympic champion of sabre fencing expressed his thoughts about the visuals and highlighted the idea of the mobile locations being situated near the sights of the city. According to an earlier report on feasibility, hosting the Olympics would cost 774 billion HUF for Hungary, however, most of the locations are planned to be able to be used afterwards.
Also, the development of the infrastructure would be done regardless of hosting the Olympics or not. Only two locations are said to be built in Budapest just because of the Olympics; out of the 28 sports 25 would be hosted in the capital city and its nearby areas, quite close to each other. Aside Budapest, events would be held in Szeged, Debrecen, Miskolc, Székesfehérvár, and Győr.
The final decision on the 2024 hosting city will be made and communicated by the International Olympic Committee on September 13, 2017, in Lima. The Hungarian capital is running against the cities of Los Angeles and Paris.
