Budapest’s famous tourist attraction becomes a paid destination
One of the most beautiful buildings in Hungary, one of the most popular tourist attractions in Budapest, will start to have a paid entrance on 16 March.
From 16 March to 23 December 2023, an entrance fee will be charged when visiting the upper observation deck of the Fisherman’s Bastion, the official magazine of Budapest, Énbudapestem, has learned from the I. district administration.
The ticket prices
The full price ticket is HUF 1200, the discounted ticket, which is available to children under 14 years of age, students with student ID and retired citizens of Hungary and the European Union, will be 600 HUF.
On public and national holidays, however, admission will be free of charge: on 15 March, 20 August and 23 October. A ticketing machine has been installed near the Fisherman’s Bastion. It provides information to tourists in several languages, including English, German, Spanish and Hungarian, napi.hu writes.
Opening hours
The upper viewing level of the Fisherman’s Bastion is open daily from 9:00 AM to 7:00 PM, until 23 December. Except during the high summer season from 1 June to 30 September, when it is open from 9:00 AM to 9:00 PM.
