Catholic community to stage march for peace
(MTI) – The Catholic Sant’Egidio Community will stage a torch-lit march in Budapest on New Year’s Day, and pray for peace for peoples hit by war or suffering from aggression, said a statement from the Esztergom-Budapest diocese.
The Catholic Church traditionally marks World Day of Peace on Jan. 1.
Participants will gather at the Pest side of Szabadsag bridge in the afternoon and walk along Vaci street to St. Michael’s Church, where they will say prayers.
