Property prices skyrocketed in this Hungarian county

Buyers in Győr-Moson-Sopron County spent 33 percent more on real estate this year on average compared to the 2020 data. In 2022, you can purchase a property of approximately 80 square meters for almost HUF 1 million (EUR 2428,79) more than during the pandemic.

The increase of property prices with respect to the average prices in the county has reached 28 percent compared to 2020, and a 24 percent increase compared to 2021 in the case of square meter prices. While those who wanted to settle in the county could get a spacious property of around 80 square meters for less than HUF 30 million (EUR 72863,77) in the year of the pandemic, this year they could purchase a new home of the same size for over HUF 40 (EUR 97151,69) million, writes hellovidek.hu.
The cities of the county offer an attractive alternative for commuters
The county’s three most populous settlements are Győr, Sopron and Mosonmagyaróvár. However, not only these are in high demand. Properties located in the agglomerations around the cities are also extremely popular. In order to prevent the depopulation of smaller villages, the popular home-building subsidy, the Village CSOK, is available for 96 settlements.
