Coronavirus – Hungary ready to ease the restrictions

From next week the easing of the introduced restrictions will be initiated, and changes towards normal life will begin in Hungary. Reportedly, the country slowly comes alive by some new rules: wearing masks and protection at every indoor place we enter, and accommodations, restaurants, cafés and even smaller shops will be opened after almost two months.
Magyar Nemzet reported that this week is similar to a rehearsal because from Monday every Hungarian citizen must wear face masks on public vehicles and shops. From next week, the government is likely to order to wear these protections at indoor places as well. The easing of the restrictions follows international examples and aims to help the economy stand on its feet again and to make the everyday life of people easier.
Wearing protection which covers the mouth, the nose will be mandatory at almost every public place from shops to gas stations. The amount of time the elderly (65-year-old and above) will be allowed on the streets will be decreased, and further shops will be reopened. All of these shops need to have enough space so that customers can keep the 1.5 meters distance from each other.
The visiting of major outdoor attractions in Budapest and every city in Hungary will also have different rules from next week. The government counts on citizens’ good and careful behaviour and keeps emphasising that protecting the elderly is the primary task of the state now. To prepare the tourism in the country the restaurants, cafés and some hotels reopen as well; all of them in a rearranged way.
These places need to provide tables, chairs 1.5 meters from each other and leave enough space to maintain social distancing. These rules will likely to remain until the end of the year.
Since the new rules were introduced, even more Hungarian people started to wear masks than before, but there are still many who do not. Furthermore, in some stores, the cashiers do not have the necessary protection. Purchasing face masks luckily became easier in the country as the state ordered many and even pet stores sell them in Hungary from this week.
