Defence minister welcomes NATO decision to launch navy action in Agean
Budapest, (MTI) – Hungary welcomes a NATO defence ministers’ decision to launch navy action to fight illegal migration and human smuggling along the shores of Greece and Turkey, the defence ministry said on Thursday.
The ministerial meeting in Brussels, where Hungary was represented by state secretary Tamás Vargha, decided to send a NATO fleet to the Agean Sea and provide support to Frontex, the European Union’s border control agency, a statement said.
This will help manage the migration crisis while notching up progress in NATO-EU cooperation, it added.
