DK to inform Interpol, FBI about deals with allegedly wanted Saudi businessman

Budapest (MTI) – The opposition Democratic Coalition (DK) party will inform the Interpol and the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) about the Hungarian prime minister’s family making business deals with Saudi businessman Ghait Pharaon, who is allegedly wanted by the FBI, the party’s deputy leader said on Sunday.

Pharaon conducted a major real estate transaction with a member of Viktor Orbán’s family and made business deals with the Hungarian National Trading House, László Varjú told a press conference. Most recently the Saudi businessman purchased a property opposite to Orbán’s house, he added.

The prime minister has thus got into an “illustrious company” as Pharaon used to have business links with Osama bin Laden, too, he said.

“As the government is doing business with criminals of international fame,” DK makes every possible step to “protect the country,” Varjú said. This is why it decided to inform the Interpol, FBI and the Hungarian authorities, he said.
