DK Lawmakers Supplement Their Oaths In Parliament
Budapest, May 6 (MTI) – Lawmakers of the leftist Democratic Coalition, taking their oaths at the founding session of the new parliament on Tuesday, supplemented the text of the oath.
The four politicians who will sit as independents in the new 199-seat chamber, the party’s leader Ferenc Gyurcsany, Csaba Molnar, Agnes Vadai and Lajos Olah said:
“I undertake to do everything to establish a new republic. I will use all my strength to ensure that the Hungarian Republic has a new constitution via a referendum.”
The lawmakers recited the supplementary text in the chamber and attached the written text to their oaths.
At a press conference, DK announced that they would not vote for Kover as house speaker. Csaba Molnar, deputy chairman of DK, said Kover had shown he lacked impartiallity, having fined the opposition while letting the ruling parties get away with everything.
