The wolf had managed to get over a two-and-a-half-metre electric fence, the zoo’s director told MTI. The animal arrived from Italy with two kin on Friday.

The forest park around the zoo was evacuated and hikers were warned to leave surrounding areas and stay away.

Zoo officials and the authorities did everything possible to track down the wolf until noon on Sunday, the zoo’s director told MTI earlier.
