Fidesz’s MEP: Continent saved by central Europe
Prague (MTI) – In fifty or hundred years’ time the current leaders of the central European nations will be remembered as the saviours of Europe and the European Union, Hungarian MEP Tamás Deutsch told the Czech paper Mlada Fronta Dnes on Saturday in connection with the migrant crisis.
Deutsch expressed the conviction that the Visegrad countries – Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia – are right in the ongoing disputes over the solution to the crisis.
“Unlike the central European leaders, a large majority of European policy-makers have lost their common sense in this issue,” he said.
Despite the serious challenges, however, the European Union will survive the migrant crisis and continue to exist in fifty years, Deutsch said.
