Here are the five star beaches at Lake Balaton
Based on the standard of playgrounds, sporting opportunities, green zones and the quality of the water, the Balaton Association announced the beaches that received the Kék Hullám Zászló (Blue Wave Flag) qualification. According to szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, 33 beaches received the flag and ten were rewarded with five stars.
The beach qualifier system was launched 13 years ago, but this was the first time that the services were rewarded on a scale of 1 to 5. Several organisations, like the Balaton Uplands National Park Directorate, took part in the size-up that was executed in the second half of June.
Balázs Balassa, the president of the Balaton Association, said that there are around 90 official beaches at Lake Balaton, which all received a call from the association. The qualification focused on the necessities and needs of guests and visitors, thus considering factors like neatness, orderliness, and the condition and equipment of the water block.
The jury paid attention to family-friendly services, the standard of playgrounds, sporting opportunities, green zones and shadowy spots, and, of course, the quality of the water. Regarding the latter factor, they came to the conclusion that the amount of tangs slightly grew since last year. Increasing muddiness was only experienced in the Keszthely Bay.
The ten 5* beaches at Lake Balaton are the following:
- Lidó Beach of Vonyarcvashegy
- The communal beach of Balatongyörök
- Diási Play Beach of Gyenesdiás
- The communal beach of Szigliget
- Kisfaludy Beach of Balatonfüred
- Eszterházy Beach of Balatonfüred
- Napfény Beach of Balatonlelle
- The communal beach of Csopak
- The municipal beach of Keszthely
- The communal beach of Balatonakali
