Foreign minister: UN High Commissioner for Human Rights attacks Hungary over illegal migration

The Office of the UN High Commissioner for Human Rights (OHCHR) is doing the same thing as Dutch green MEP Judith Sargentini and other pro-migration politicians: they attack Hungary because it does not let illegal migrants enter its territory, Foreign Minister Péter Szijjártó said on Tuesday.

Szijjártó reacted to an OHCHR press release published on Tuesday in which UN experts expressed serious concerns about the Hungarian government’s latest measures concerning migrants and civil society.

The “pro-migration heavy artillery” has been deployed against Hungary, Szijjártó said in a statement.

“They will make every effort to flood Hungary and the whole of Europe with migrants,” he said. The OHCHR “represents the interests of George Soros and immigrants,” similarly to Sargentini and her followers, he added.

The Hungarian government will continue to protect Hungary’s borders and considers the organisation of illegal migration a serious crime, which will be firmly sanctioned, Szijjártó said.

Hungary will inform the OHCHR that security is the most basic human right and European people have the right to live in security, he said.

“We will insist on enforcing this right and protect the security of Hungary and, accordingly, Europe as a whole,” he said.
