Former Hungarian president received prestigious award
Hungary’s former President Pál Schmitt has received a European Olympic Laurel award from the European Olympic Committee, the Hungarian Olympic Committee has said on its website.
Twice Olympic champion and Athlete of the Nation Schmitt is the third Hungarian sports leader to be recognised with the award since its establishment in 2007.
The awards are given in recognition of outstanding achievement in promoting sport and cooperation between sports organisations.
