German edition of Hungarian contemporary titles to debut at Leipzig international book fair

MTI – The German edition of titles by four Hungarian contemporary authors will have their debut at this year’s Leipzig Book Fair, Germany’s second major literary fair after the one in Frankfurt, between March 27-30, the Petőfi Cultural Agency (PKU) said on Monday.
The titles include Noemi Kiss’ volume of selected novels entitled Karácsony a Dunán (Christmas on the Danube), Lászlá F. Földényi’s The long Shadow of the Guillotine, László Vegel’s Unburied Past and Ákos Kormányos’ Defragmentation, PKU said in a statement.
“It feels great to be published abroad. With a new book cover, new sentences. The books change and resonate differently; there will be something completely different the German reader will find as important in a book,” the statement quoted Noémi Kiss as saying. She said that “I am always surprised to see how intensive the public’s interest in Leipzig is towards our literature and new trends”.
PKU has published for the fair a catalogue entitled New Hungarian Fiction presenting Hungary’s “rich and diverse” contemporary literature.
