It did not discourage the investors that the price of the Hungarian settlement bond has increased from EUR 250 thousand to 300 thousand, 375 such government bonds have been sold in January, napi.hu says.
In its Friday issue, Napi Gazdasag (Daily Economy) describes Government Debt Management Agency (AKK) Zrt.’s data, according to which these bonds were sold in worth of EUR 16.67 million in the first month of the year.
According to the journal, the number and the amount are also significant, since 2213 bonds were registered by the foreigners last year, a total of EUR 491.25 million, napi.hu says.
The point is that investors from so-called third countries, outside of the EU, who purchase five-year government bonds, issued for this purpose with a nominal value of 300 thousand euros, will receive a residence permit after half a year, according to national law. Possessing this, they are able to move freely in the Schengen area, Napi Gazdasag says.
