What do you think a typical Hungarian single looks like?
In Hungary, more than 200 thousand people in their 20s or 30s are single. They have never been married, they are not in a relationship, and they do not have a kid.
Irén Rövid, an analyst of the Hungarian Central Statistical Office, said to inforadio.hu that there are many definitions for single. Therefore, she used her own, which she created by using Hungarian and international research results.
She said that there are experts who regard all unmarried people as single
who are not in a relationship during a census.
However, some put divorced people, as well, into that category. Furthermore, others say that people living alone are single too. Ms Rövid, however, does not regard the latter single because most of those who live alone are above 60 and their family state is mostly not unmarried.

- How many children are born outside marriage in Hungary? Shocking result!
In her first paper, she regarded as singles only those who were in the 20-39 age group during the 2001 and 2011 censuses and were unmarried and did not have a permanent relationship or children and lived alone. She added that later she broadened this category by adding the age group of 40-49.
Based on her findings,
there are more single men than women.
A typical Hungarian single is 30-year-old, either a man or a woman. He or she started to work at the age of 21 and moved away from the parents after his or her 24th birthday. Ms Rövid said that the researched group is very colourful regarding their schooling. The net income of an average single woman in their 20s or 30s is 181 thousand HUF (EUR 560) while in the case of men this number is somewhat higher, 201 thousand HUF (EUR 600).
Among men
the most common jobs are
software developer, locksmith, system administrator, shopkeeper and lorry driver. Meanwhile, in the case of women, these jobs are shopkeeper, office administrator, bartender and financial analyst or investor.

When did Irén publish her findings? Why are (suspect) stats from 2001-2011 being used now, in 2020? What international findings? The whole premise of this article has more holes in it than Swiss Cheese! Facts please.
