Thanks to the smartphones and the selfie-fever, almost everyone has become a photographer. And if a picture is taken, it is gladly shown to others. The internet provides a great opportunity for this. It was used when creating this top list as well.

The order was drawn up according to sightsmap’s heat map. The location and the frequency of the pictures uploaded to Google Panoramio were taken as a basis.

The Top 10 Most Photographed Buildings are:

  1. Guggenheim Museum – New York, United States
  2. Trinitá dei Monti – Rome, Italy
  3. Park Güell – Barcelona, Spain
  4. Moulin Rouge – Paris, France
  5. Maiden’s Tower – Istanbul, Turkey
  6. Ponte dell’Accademia – Venice, Italy
  7. Hotel de Paris Monte-Carlo – Monte Carlo, Monaco
  8. Piazzale Michelangelo – Florence, Italy
  9. Caminito – Buenos Aires, Argentina
  10. St. Stephen’s Basilica – Budapest, Hungary

No wonder the Basilica is on the list: Eva Longoria jumped happily in front of it, and the selfie world record was also made at the Budapest sight.
