Hungarian, Austrian interior ministers discuss migration
Budapest (MTI) – Illegal migration and Austria’s new refugee law were among the topics discussed by Interior Minister Sándor Pintér and counterpart Wolfgang Sobotka in Budapest on Tuesday, the interior ministry said.
The ministers confirmed their dedication to continued cooperation between Hungary and Austria, with special emphasis on the greatest shared challenge of fighting illegal migration.
Sobotka briefed Pintér about Austria’s recently adopted refugee law and its implementation, as well as the temporary reintroduction of border controls between Hungary and Austria.
In addition to refugee issues and migration, the sides also discussed agreements between the two ministries and their executive bodies and current issues involving cooperation in education and the fight against crime.
