Family-owned cheese maker Profood Flexum has acquired local peer Cserpes Sajtműhely Élelmiszeripari Ltd, the company’s brand consultant told MTI.
No details discolosed about Cserpes transaction
The sides did not disclose the details of the transaction which includes Cserpes‘s entire vertically integrated business. No changes will be made to the brand, its products, its network of shops or its staff.

“The goal is to preserve, further develop and strengthen a successful Hungarian brand,” the statement said. Founder István Cserpes will continue to advise on the brand and play an active role in its future development, MTI wrote.
Profood Flexum operates its own farm and dairy. It counts SAGA, Gallicoop, Spar, Merian Foods, CBA and the pizzeria Don Pepe among its business partners.
A 30+ yo brand
Cserpes Sajtműhely was founded by István Cserpes in 1992. Its products include milk, yoghurt, cheese and Cserpes Trudi. The first Cserpes Tejivó opened in 2012, and the company currently operates three milk bars in Budapest.
Since 2013, the Cserpes brand has received MagyarBrands recognition and has been entitled to display the Superbrands trademark. In 2025, István Cserpes received the Entrepreneur of the Year award from the National Association of Entrepreneurs and Employers.
Last year, Cserpes recorded revenue of HUF 5.073 billion and a post-tax profit of HUF 367 million. In 2024, its revenue stood at HUF 4.5 billion and its profit at HUF 652 million. The company employs approximately 200 people.
