Hungarian tennis sport achieved huge success. As the first Hungarian duo, Dalma Galfi and Fanni Stollar won the juniors competition at the British open tennis tournament in Wimbledon. (Timea Babos in 2010, Agnes Szavay in 2005 were first but both with foreign partners). The Hungarians beat the Belarus Lapko and the Slovak Mihalikova in two sets, index.hu said.
It is an amazing deed; since the Hungarian women’s tennis sport has never had such a success at the English tournament (it is worth to mention Marton Fucsovics, who became first in singles in 2010).
The Hungarians moved head-to-head with their opponents until 3-2, and then they lost only one game in the first set. The second one was even simpler, they won 3 of 4 breaks and defeated their enemies in 1 hour 6 minutes.
Their success is also special because in the semi-finals – as third seeded – they defeated the firs-seeded duo. In 2014, Galfi played finals in doubles, but he couldn’t win. Both girls have reached the biggest success of their career.
