Hungarian foreign minister meets Chinese commerce minister, Bank of China representatives
Beijing, May 12 (MTI) – Hungary has become China’s top trading partner in the central European region, Péter Szijjártó, Hungary’s foreign affairs and trade minister, said after talks with China’s Commerce Minister Zhong Shan and representatives of the Bank of China in Beijing on Friday.
Szijjártó is in the Chinese capital with Prime Minister Viktor Orbán’s delegation on a six-day official visit.
The minister told public media that his talks had produced a number of agreements that would further boost bilateral economic, tourism and trade relations.
The value of Hungary’s exports to China is the highest in central Europe, Szijjártó said. Hungary also has the most permits to export food to China in the region, he added.
The country is also China’s number one investment destination in central Europe and has the highest growth rate in the number of tourists arriving from China.
