As Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu reports, Réka Pávó won the jury’s heart with her heart-stirring and emotional piece at the international photo competition.

‘Art & Leukaemia’ is the name of the winning photo of Huawei’s international photo competition in collaboration with National Geographic. Contestants from 20 countries could prove that they are good enough even with their smartphones to win the generous prizes consisting of a laptop and a trip to Italy among other valuable gifts.

Photographs that were taken using Huawei could be uploaded in six categories. The more than 67,000 photos that were entered to the competition were rated by the public and evaluated by a jury of 6 professionals.

Réka was the absolute winner of the competition: the Hungarian girl with leukaemia won with her photograph ‘Art & Leukemia’.

✌️?”Egy kórteremből lenne szép nyerni.” – gondoltam viccesen. (Velence, Firenze, Toszkána, Siena, Róma) Még most sem tértem magamhoz és percenként frissítem a honlapot 🙂 Hálával tartozom Istennek <3 Életem egyik fő álma vált valóra✌️??? The photo shows the fight of a young woman with cancer, a woman who can live a full life despite her battle with a permanent illness.

“Dear Friends, I cannot thank you all enough for voting for my photo: this is such a miracle that I still cannot even believe it. (…) I am still struggling to believe this is real and have to refresh the page every minute ? Thank God for this <3 One of my dreams came true today!” – posted the extremely happy winner following the competition.

Réka will not leave empty-handed: besides the great honour of winning the competition, she receives tremendous prizes from the generosity of Huawei and National Geographic.

Her prizes include the latest Huawei Matebook X notebook, EUR 10,000 award and an Italian photo trip with National Geographic. Her photos will later be published in the magazine, to be shown all over the world.

Previously, another Hungarian had the chance to receive an award from National Geographic at a nature photography contest, but Hungarians excel in fine art photography, too, not to mention the results at the World Press Photo Contest.
