Hungarian hot compote won bronze in the USA

Hot Pepper Awards has been held for the 9th time in New York. Hungarians ran for the first time and got a medal immediately, origo.hu reported.

Nearly 200 contestants measured their hot products in 42 categories. Chili Hungária Manufaktúra competed with its specialty called Hab’n’go and finished 3rd in its category – this is a great result after the gold medal earned among the sauces in July 2015.

“In America, especially in New York, it is very hard to succeed as a foreigner. It is hard to get into the world where well-known companies represent the flavors of the USA. Hab’n’go, however, is unique in its kind, so the jury also raised its head immediately,”- Chili Hungária said.

According to origo.hu, it is a habanero compote with mango, that is why it was named: HABanero aNd manGO. Basically, chili producers make hot sauces and pepper creams, but some of them make pickles as well. The company, however, wanted to come up with something else.

Then this mango compote came, and the fruity habanero pepper matched its sweetness perfectly.

The Hungarian product participated in the Open Class category where it mostly competed with chili chocolates – in this respect the bronze medal seems like a serious success.
