Japanese star architect and designer praised House of Music in Budapest in Japan

Sou Fujimoto, the Japanese architect and the designer of the multi-award winning House of Music in Budapest said that the building “is one of the most important projects of my life”, at a talk he gave in the Hungarian pavilion at the World Expo in Osaka, on Wednesday, Városliget Zrt has said.

He told the audience about how he had worked on preparing the design and about the construction of the building, the project company said in a statement. In an informal talk, Fujimoto described how he had been inspired by the unique natural environment of City Park, the venue, and the richness of Hungarian culture.

“I am very proud of the House of Music in Budapest, in which there is perfect harmony between nature, the building and the musical content. That is why I consider it to be the best expression of my architectural philosophy.”

“It is one of the most important projects for me so far, and I’m very proud of it,” he said. “I’ve visited the House of Music several times since it was opened, and I’ve been delighted to see how many visitors it attracts and how much joy it gives.”
