International cooperation leads to arrest
NEBEK investigators traced the suspect to the Caribbean island nation of Antigua and Barbuda. Information gathered by the Hungarian authorities enabled their counterparts in the country to locate and arrest him.
The case involved an international manhunt, with the warrants allowing law enforcement agencies beyond Hungary to assist in the search. The arrest shows the role of cross-border police cooperation in locating suspects who are wanted in Hungary but are believed to be staying abroad.
