Hungarian minister: hate towards ‘the Hungarians’ took control over the European Parliament
Two Polish Confederation MEPs have said they are joining the Patriots for Europe group, bringing its total number of representatives to 86, the political weekly Mandiner said.
In a Facebook post, Fidesz MEP Kinga Gál welcomed the new members, noting that the group now has representatives from 14 parties and 13 countries.
The group was formed in the summer by Prime Minister Viktor Orbán, the ruling Fidesz party’s leader, Herbert Kickl, the Austrian Freedom Party’s leader, and Andrej Babis, the Czech ANO party’s leader. It is now the third largest MEP grouping.

Mandiner wrote that the latest development “highlights the growing influence of right-wing movements in the EU”.
Gergely Gulyás, the Minister of the Prime Minister’s Office, said on a press briefing yesterday that hate towards the Hungarians took control over the European Parliament.
