Hungarian motorists continued to pay less at the pump in January than in neighbouring countries, the National Economy Ministry said on Saturday.
The price of petrol in Hungary was HUF 4/litre under the average in neighbouring countries and diesel was HUF 3/litre cheaper, the ministry said.
Data compiled from the EU weekly Oil Bulletin by the Central Statistics Office (KSH) show petrol prices in Hungary averaged HUF 555/litre and diesel prices averaged HUF 570/litre in January.
Hungary’s government earlier said it would intervene if motor fuel prices exceeded the average in neighbouring countries.

What a nonsense not mentioning the average salaries in those countries as well.
Only Croatia and Romania have similar average salaries while all the rest have way better conditions!!
