Hungarian Mountaineer Klein Sets Off To Summit Mount Everest
Budapest, May 20 (MTI) – Hungarian mountaineer David Klein set off early on Tuesday to summit the Mount Everest without bottled oxygen.
Klein told MTI by phone that he is planning to reach the camp number 3 in four days and reach the world’s highest peak on May 25. The weather forecast for the weekend is realtively good, he added.
If Klein succeeds, he will be the first Hungarian to climb the 8,848 metre peak without bottled oxygen. Only around two hundred people in the world have managed to do this so far.
Klein told MTI that in case the first attempt is not successful, he will repeat it once again in early June when the weather is expected to permit this.
