Hungarian police officers saved the life of a three-year-old Ukrainian boy who fell critically ill on the M1 motorway between Budapest and Vienna.
Parents of the Ukrainian boy appeared helpless
According to Budapest police, two officers rescued the child thanks to their swift and professional intervention.
The boy suddenly became unwell, and his family managed only to stop on the hard shoulder before getting out of the car. When the officers arrived, the child was not breathing.
The incident happened on the evening of July 30 and turned what should have been an ordinary journey into a nightmare for the Ukrainian family. The parents emerged from the car holding their son in their arms, but he showed no signs of life, his face and lips had turned blue, and they appeared helpless when Roland Agócs and Tamás Domszky arrived.

Calm, professional response
“There was no time for questions. There was no time to hesitate,” the police said in a Facebook post.
Mr Domszky called an ambulance while Mr Agócs began life-saving measures. He performed chest compressions and several rounds of the Heimlich manoeuvre. Moments later — an age for those present — the boy began breathing again.
Paramedics took over the care of Maksym and took him to the Bókay Paediatric Clinic in Budapest.
The Budapest police expressed their gratitude to their colleagues, praising their calm, professional response, which saved the boy’s life.
