Hungary will from 2014 offer an all-expense paid scholarship to 50 Nigerian students in the fields of Medicine, Technology, Engineering and Basic Sciences, the Hungarian Secretary of State for Foreign and External Affairs, Mr Peter Szijarto has announced, WorldStage Newsonline reports.
Speaking during a bi-lateral meeting with the Supervising Minister of Education, Barr. Ezenwo Nyesom Wike in Abuja on Tuesday, Szijarto noted that the scholarship awards are the highpoint of discussions between both countries to facilities bi-lateral relations.
The Hungarian Secretary of State stated that the country agreeded to fund the scholarship between 2014/2015 academic session and 2017/2018 academic session in its quest to ensure that it develops a direct person to person relationship with Nigeria.
WorldStage Newsonline underlined, Szijarto said: “The students that will be sent annually to Hungary by the Nigerian government will facilitate the needed person to person relationship between Nigeria and Hungary. We are also opening an embassy in Nigeria to facilitate greater relationship between our Hungary and the most important country in West Africa.”
