Hungarian Restaurant Is Among the Best
One of the world’s best publications of bar, restaurant and hotel design is Night Fever. The 560-page yearly publication provides a comprehensive view of the world’s best and most beautiful bars, restaurants and hotels. For the first time, a Hungarian place is also on the list, ZONA Budapest in Lanchid Street, Buda, Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu said.
Just like the previous releases, this book is a must for those who would like to watch the prominent participants of the profession and follow the latest trends. This is the fourth year the publication is issued, and it digs deep into the design conception of the world’s best catering units and provides insight into the unique vision of the creators.
From bijou bars and small restaurants through the multi-storey clubs to the luxurious hotels, the publication divides the world’s bests into three parts main parts: “drink”, “eat”, “sleep”. More than 130, in the last three years made interiors can found in the book, which were designed by so renowned studios as Estudio Campana, Marcel Wanders Studio, Ministry of Design and Positions collective. Exhaustively, the publication collects the designers and the address and contact information of all the displayed bars, restaurants and hotels.
Although the Budapest bar, restaurant and hotel design also took a huge turn in the past few years, new, internationally recognized places are opening from the shadows of the ruin pubs, there has not been ever a Hungarian place in the publication of Night Fever., Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu says.
ZONA Budapest is the first Hungarian restaurant which could appear in the book. All of this due to the outstanding culinary performance and the thoughtful design conception which perfectly connects cuisine and interior.
ZONA is a casual fine dining restaurant which combines top gastronomy with everyday slack. In the center, there are not the main dishes but the smaller portions. “The name ZONA expresses two features: one hand, it refers to the exciting two “zones” split interior that is at once a wine bar and a restaurant; the other hand it refers to the nature of the served food, which is served in zone portions, well-known in Hungary earlier” – read on the ZONA website.
The kitchen is led by Krisztian Huszar who is inspired by beside the reinterpreted Hungarian cuisine the Eastern and the Basque kitchen as well. ZONA also places great emphasis on wines: more than two hundred Hungarian and foreign items can be found on the wine list.
According to Szeretlekmagyarorszag.hu, the design is the work of POSITION Collective involved in spatial and object design and visual communication, who mainly wanted to make see clean-reliance, spontaneity and functionality in the background – epiteszforum.hu said. Key elements of the interior are the rugged wooden furniture which revived the 1950s designed by the famous British designers Tom Dixon and the Wild Spirits. The drink wall is unique, made of hot-rolled steel sheets, and the special lights are retro spheres reminding of grapes, made by the Szarvas lamp factory. A Hungarian professionalist provided them unique cupper sockets too.
