Hungarian security system to be installed at New York Airport
A Hungarian-developed security system will be installed at one of the busiest US airports, La Guardia Airport in New York.
The external protection system – consisting of dozens of high-resolution and high-precision cameras – is one of the most modern technologies that are represented on the international market by Imageonix Technologies, a subsidiary company to the 100% Hungarian Metalcom Hungary Plc.
As the official website of the company – imageonix.com – describes, the company provides “Innovative solutions for wide-area public surveillance, critical infrastructure, and facial recognition.” Their innovative technology solutions serve “public safety and industrial security markets”, developing “wide-area video surveillance, smart cities/traffic monitoring technology and industrial grade 3D facial recognition software throughout the Americas”.
According to hvg.hu, La Guardia Airport – transacting more than 30 million passengers per year – chose the Hungarian company’s security system as the best price and technical solution. Its construction will start soon and will be completed by the end of August. If expectations will be fulfilled, internal roads of the airport are also planned to be protected by Imageonix cameras – the company said.
