Hungarian tourist filmed naked children in a Danish swimming pool – already in custody

The 48-year-old man said that he made the videos only for private use, but the judge did not believe him.

The Danish press says that a Hungarian tourist was arrested in Denmark because he made videos of naked boys in the changing room of a popular swimming pool in Copenhagen, hvg reported. The 48-year-old Hungarian whose name or even monogram is still kept a secret said that he arrived in the Danish capital last Wednesday as a tourist. However, instead of visiting the popular places of Copenhagen, he chose to go to the swimming pool of the DGI Byen hotel complex where he filmed 5-15-year-old boys in the changing room.

The police were called by one of the guests of the hotel who spotted that the Hungarian man was trying to upload photos of naked children on his laptop. When the officers arrived in the hotel, the man’s computer was linked with his camera on which they found more photos and videos. They took the suspect into custody immediately, and

the court already decided to put him in pre-trial detention.

On his first hearing, he acknowledged that he made the videos, which he already regretted. He added that he had made them only for private use, so he did not want to forward them to anyone.

Based on Danish laws, the process has to be finished against him in Denmark, and he can only be extradited to Hungary after the court decides about the case. The prosecutors are charging him with having child pornographic content and that he filmed people without their consent in a non-public place. In Denmark, even the latter is a crime.
