Daily Mail came up with an interesting list after the summary of the semester’s criminal statistics, player.hu says.
We know that Daily Mail is like the Hungarian Blikk (a tabloid) and their findings are at the standards of the British scientists, but this list was made not by them, but by the British Ministry of Justice.
Hungarians are not recorded on these lists.
Theft, burglary and fraud categories are led by the Romanians, but the Lithuanians, the Poles and the Irish are also among the top three.
The list covers a period of six months, during which there were 39 773 arrests, of which only a fraction – nearly 5000 people – were foreigners, but it is still a high number compared to the population living there. 126 000 Romanians live in the UK, of which 760 were arrested so the chance of arresting a Romanian person is 8 times greater than an English, player.hu says.
Here is another Top 20 list of nations in the number of arrests. Hungarians are not on this list.
It seems that the vast majority of the Hungarians go to work to the UK. It is good to see this list but not because of what we see, but because of what we do not.
