Hungary Full-Fledged Member Of Intersputnik
Budapest, May 27 (MTI) – Hungary today became a full-fledged member of Intersputnik International Organisation of Space Communications.
The organisation has 26 member states, among them Poland, the Czech Republic, Romania, Germany and Ukraine.
As the Hungarian government places special emphasis on high value-added industries, including the space industry, Hungary’s membership is highly important, said Balazs Solymar, Deputy State Secretary for Infocommunications.
Solymar also emphasised that world-class Hungarian space industry businesses can only have access to major projects as part of international cooperation initiatives. Thus, Hungary also aims to achieving full membership in the European Space Agency (ESA) by the end of 2014.
