Hungary, Kazakhstan officials discuss bilateral agricultural ties
Budapest, November 6 (MTI) – Farm ministry state secretary Istvan Nagy on Friday met Saparkhan Kesikbayevich Omarov, Kazakhstan’s deputy minister of agriculture, to discuss Hungarian-Kazakh agricultural ties, the farm ministry told MTI.
During the meetings in Kazakhstan, the officials discussed opportunities for cooperation in investment, the exchange of know-how, university student exchange programmes and boosting bilateral trade in GMO-free seeds.
They agreed to put together a work plan for further agricultural cooperation and that officials from the two countries would meet regularly to discuss the progress.
Nagy also met Yerlan Aukenov, deputy mayor of Almaty, to discuss bilateral trade. He also attended the 18th Central Asian International Food Industry Exhibition which also featured Hungarian products, the ministry said.
