Brussels (MTI) – Protecting the European Union’s external borders is seen as an important task by the Netherlands, too, Hungary’s state secretary in charge of EU affairs told MTI after talks with Robert de Groot, European director of the Dutch Prime Minister’s Office, on Friday.

Although Hungary and the Netherlands assess several aspects of the migrant crisis differently, there are many elements which they agree on, Szabolcs Takacs said.

The two politicians agreed that member states struck a more constructive tone at the recent EU summit than before.

“We also agreed that mutual accusations will lead to nowhere,” he said.
