Hungary to launch several cancer screening programmes
Budapest, February 4 (MTI) – The Human Resources Ministry is launching several screening programmes this year in an effort to boost the efficacy of cancer prevention, the state secretary for health told a press conference on Tuesday, marking World Cancer Day.
The development of facilities providing oncology care will continue, Miklos Szocska said.
A campaign for screening breast cancer will be launched on April 10 under which invitations for examination will be mailed to 600,000 people, he said.
A screening truck will be dispatched to poorer regions and the opening hours of screening stations will be extended, Szocska added.
The ministry will launch additional hard-hitting campaigns to stress the importance of early detection, he said.
