Budapest, December 12 (MTI) – Tourism will close a record year in 2015 according to estimates with revenues in the sector to exceed 350 billion forints (EUR 1.1bn), an official at the Economy Ministry said on Saturday.

Istvan Lepsenyi told public news channel M1 that according to tourism data published by Central Statistical Office (KSH) on Friday, the number of tourists visiting Hungary could exceed 10 million by the end of the year and these tourists will have spent 25 million guest nights in the country. Hungary finished 24th on a list of 50 countries ranked by the UN’s tourism organisation, Lepsenyi added.
