Hungary’s house speaker inaugurates Hungarian House in Croatia
Vukovar, Croatia, June 1 (MTI) – House Speaker László Köver inaugurated a new Hungarian House in Vukovar (in Hungarian: Vukovár), in eastern Croatia, on Wednesday.
Kövér was joined at the inauguration ceremony by Zeljko Reiner, his Croatian counterpart.
Kövér said the Hungarian House showed that “rebirth is possible”, referring to the city’s reconstruction after its destruction in the Yugoslav Wars.
The house speaker is on a two-day visit in Croatia. He will later hold talks with Sándor Jakab, the president of the Democratic Community of Hungarians. On Thursday, Kövér will be in Zagreb to hold talks with Prime Minister Tihomir Oreskovic and Foreign Minister Miro Kovac.
