Worker fell from Szeged government office

A fatal workplace accident occurred in Szeged on Tuesday around midday, when an industrial climber fell from the roof of the Csongrád-Csanád County Government Office, Szegeder reported.

The worker fell onto the roof of the Vármegye Restaurant next to the government office and died at the scene, according to local reports.

The man is believed to have fallen from a height of at least 15 metres. Local reports said he suffered a serious head injury, which may have contributed to his death, although the exact cause of death has not yet been officially established.

Photographs from the scene show ropes hanging from the government office building, apparently used by the worker during his work. Workers were also seen setting up a protective covering at the site following the accident.
