Insurers estimate storm damage at HUF 3 billion
Budapest, July 10 (MTI) – Damages from the recent storm in Hungary are estimated around 3 billion forints (EUR 9.5m), the Association of Hungarian Insurers (Mabisz) said on Friday.

Some 20,000 claims are expected in connection with storm damages, Mabisz said. Temperatures dropped 10 degrees Celsius on Wednesday after a heat wave in the previous days, and windforce peaked between 110-130 km/hour during the storm.
Insurers have so far received about 5,000 claims but the number is still growing. Most of the damage was reported from Budapest, central and western Hungary, Mabisz said.
