(MTI) – A court on Tuesday said some terms allowing unilateral changes by K and H Bank to borrowers’ contracts met legal criteria while it rejected TakarekBank’s defence of changes it made to borrowers’ contracts.

In a non-binding ruling, the Budapest Municipal Court on Tuesday said K and H Bank’s contracts were lawful between March 15 and July 19, 2014.

The bank’s case was one of dozens the court is hearing after legislation was approved in summer voiding unilateral changes to loan contracts unless lenders can successfully defend the practice in court.

Meanwhile, it rejected TakarekBank’s defence of changes it made to borrowers’ contracts in a first instance ruling.
