Large cocaine haul seized at Budapest airport
Budapest, January 12 (MTI) – Police at Budapest’s international Ferenc Liszt airport have seized a large haul of cocaine worth well over 300,000 euros from two Portuguese nationals.
Police said on their website on Monday that a man and woman were detained on Jan. 10 after they exhibited suspicious behaviour. Altogether 7.9 kg of the drug was found in 82 sachets of hair dye contained in 23-year-old Sandra Filipa C.’s suitcase. The drug had been taken from Brazil via Dubai to Budapest. She was aided by 48-year-old Aruna C., the police said.
The two suspected smugglers have been placed in police detention pending an investigation and charges.
