Magyar Posta mulls buying electric vehicles

car environment Magyar Posta

State-owned Hungarian postal company Magyar Posta is trying out several models of electric vehicles between August 2015 and January 2016 to decide on possible purchases.

Magyar Posta is looking for cost-effective and environmentally friendly solutions for logistical work and package delivery, the company’s chief executive Zsolt Szarka said on Friday.

Electric vehicles can be used in more densely populated areas and fuel cost will be lower compared to non-electric models, said Szarka.

Magyar Posta is testing electric cars from Citroen, Nissan, Volkswagen, Kia and Renault and an electric scooter made by Govecs.
