Mesterhazy Re-Elected Socialist Party Group Leader
(MTI) – The main opposition Socialist party has formed its new parliamentary group and unanimously re-elected Attila Mesterhazy as its leader, Mesterhazy said after the forming session on Wednesday.
The Socialists have nominated Istvan Hiller for the post of deputy house speaker and Zsolt Molnar to fill again the post of chairman of parliament’s national security committee, Mesterhazy told reporters.
They have nominated Sandor Burany for the post of chairman of the budget committee, he said.
Mesterhazy said the Socialists were preparing to act as an opposition force with a critical approach that offers alternative solutions.
The Socialists secured 29 seats in the parliamentary election held on April 6.
The founding session of the new 199-seat parliament will be held on May 6.
