Three ministers and Captain Szilveszter Pálinkás were due to travel on a Wizz Air flight from Budapest to Warsaw to join Prime Minister Péter Magyar and Foreign Minister Anita Orbán on an official visit to Poland. However, the aircraft was involved in an unexpected incident.
Wizz Air plane hits bird
According to Telex, the Wizz Air plane on which Economy Minister István Kapitány, Agriculture Minister Szabolcs Bóna, Defence Minister Romulusz Ruszin-Szendi, and his deputy chief of staff, Captain Szilveszter Pálinkás, were scheduled to travel struck a bird. As a result, the flight departed one hour later than planned.
The Hungarian low-cost airline stated that the bird strike occurred during the aircraft’s previous journey. Consequently, a thorough inspection had to be carried out. Wizz Air therefore decided to replace the aircraft, and the substitute plane departed Budapest 40 minutes behind schedule.

Polish-Hungarian friendship reestablished
During the election campaign, Péter Magyar promised that his first official visit would be to Poland in order to reset the deteriorating Polish–Hungarian relationship. This deterioration was attributed to the Orbán government’s pro-Russian, and at times pro-Putin, policies, which urged Ukraine to seek a ceasefire and peace rather than defend itself against Russian aggression. Meanwhile, the Polish government viewed Russia as a serious threat to European security and believed that Kyiv deserved full support.

Péter Magyar stated that he would like to revive cooperation among the Visegrád Four countries and promised that Hungary would be a reliable partner. He is due to travel to Austria tomorrow and later to Brussels.
Before being elected as Hungary’s new prime minister, Péter Magyar held discussions with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni.
