New foreign ministry website and app in Hungary
The foreign ministry has developed and launched a new user friendly website and mobile app aimed to help Hungary’s consular services abroad, the head of the ministry’s consular and citizenship department said on Wednesday.
The app dubbed “Konzinfo Utazom” will provide useful information to Hungarian citizens travelling abroad and provide for their safety, Balázs Farkas told a press conference. In case of an emergency, it will also help Hungary’s missions to provide assistance to Hungarians in trouble, he said, noting that in a preliminary test, the application’s group messages function was of immense help during the wildfires in Greece.
Csilla Horváth, the project’s manager, said its aim was to provide to citizens faster, more transparent and more informative administration abroad. The total cost of the project was HUF 2 billion (EUR 5.2 million).
